On the Second Day of Vacation, My True Love Said to Me...

On the second day of vacation, my true love said to me "Let's visit Jelly Belly!"
After spending the night with the Davis family, we woke up to a yummy breakfast at their home. They treated us to a local favorite - a kringle.
Then they accompanied us to two location attractions - a lighthouse and the Jelly Belly distribution center.
The lighthouse was very neat. Although we couldn't go inside it, there was a small museum that we could tour and a beach to walk in. We took a few great pictures together along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
I was glad that the Davis family could accompany us for the morning. It was fun to spend a little more time with their family than we otherwise would've, if we'd set out to explore the area on our own.
Then we headed to the Jelly Belly distribution center. They have a free tour that includes free samples! And they make you wear those great hats :-) Fun for all!
Then we said good-bye to the Davis family and headed further north into Wisconsin. After a 2-3 hour drive, we arrived at our location. We would spend our second night with a former co-worker of mine named Gail. Gail is middle-aged, unmarried with no children. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my kids took to her, in a bit of an "aunt" type role. She was a wonderful hostess.
After supper, Gail took us on a walking tour of her city, which was beautiful at twilight. The kids enjoyed a playground/park and we headed back to her place for the night. She had a whole upper-level set apart for us, with two bedrooms and a bathroom of our own. We seriously felt spoiled, as though we were in a luxury hotel!
Day two was another great day of vacation... details on day three are coming tomorrow.
