Family Photo Friday

5/8/2015

It's Friday, so here are a few photos from our week.

We did some major spring cleaning and room re-arranging earlier in the week. Part of this was to prepare for a guest, but it served other purposes too, as we prepare for baby's arrival in the fall. We moved toddler girl upstairs to share a room with big sister, leaving behind a true guest room. This was the cleanest and nicest this room has looked in years.

Sisters. Love it.

We had some HOT weather this week. Hot enough to get out the pool. The kids, of course, loved it and spent hours in the water.

This little girl. Oh, how she enjoys wearing other people's footwear around the house. Here she is with daddy's slippers. Just as often, it is brother's shoes or daddy's dress shoes. Funny.

Just for fun, here are two photos of her big sister who used to do the same thing, back in 2005. See similarities?

Happy Friday, one and all!

It's Friday. Here are a few photos from our week.

My spring flowers are in bloom.
My heart delights in seeing these colorful beauties!

I had a 3-man band at my house this week.
Lots of noise and happy memories.

My little girl can climb up into the stroller all by herself. This is her way to communicate her desire to be outside, which she is desiring almost constantly these days. Who isn't, after a long winter?!

Happy Friday to one and all!

Here are some photos that give a little sneak peek into our week.

My mom sent an Easter package that included this bunny ears for our littlest bunny. So cute.

Grandma R hosted my children and cousin Racquel at her house to decorate eggs this week.

My hubby often reads with my son in the evenings before bed. They've read some great books like Charlotte's Web, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Rabbit Hill, James and the Giant Peach, and Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. This week they finished up Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, which was heavier reading but they both enjoyed the story.

We've had some beautiful spring days lately. Here are all 3 of my kids by a tree in our yard. Little Miss loved the freedom to walk in the grass by herself.

Happy Friday to one and all!

Here's a sneak peek into our week.

My hubby and youngest daughter were wearing pretty pastel colors to church on Sunday. Bring on spring!

My son lost his other front tooth this week so he has a new smile to show off.

Here's my oldest and my youngest, having fun together. Oh how the little one loves horsey rides these days.

My oldest daughter recently discovered string games like Cat's Cradle. Here she's showing Cat Whiskers.

Happy Friday, y'all!

A new baby in our home means it's time for new family photos.

We keep a family portrait hanging above our fireplace in the living room. Above is the one we had there, from fall 2012.

And here's some new, current shots with all 3 children.

My heart is so overjoyed and thankful for the family God's blessed me with. What a delight to share life with these people!

It's Friday which is when I try to post a few family photos.

A week or so ago we had our homeschool co-op end-of-semester program. One of the classes that performed a song on stage was the "Armor of God" class. My kids were not in this class, but my son was so impressed with their costumes that he immediately began talking of making some armor at home.

It wasn't long before he and his sister had homemade swords and helmets. And this led to a number of discussions about the armor of God mentioned in Ephesians 6.

It also led to some birthday gifts that fit the theme as well.

This picture doesn't show the stickers as well as I'd hoped, but my son chose stickers to represent each member of our family to put on his shirt. He put a smiley face on for Dad, Mom, sister and himself. Then he added a sticker of a gift for Baby Flutter. So sweet.

My hubby and daughter were busy in the kitchen making soft buttery pretzels. Mmmm.

My kids worked together to put up our Christmas tree this week. Team work at its best.

My son loves drawing and creating with the dry-erase board. He was very proud of himself when he drew this awesome picture of a firefighter, fire truck and burning building. Great job, Buddy!

Happy Friday to you!

Friday is here again which means that I try to post some family photos from our week.

We have the car seat ready for our baby. My son wanted to pose with it. Next step is putting it in our van to make room for baby.

My daughter loves the movie "The Sound of Music." One day she came up with this nun outfit. Love it!

It's definitely fall in our neck of the woods. Lots of leaf-raking has taken place. Our kids like to get in on the action.

Happy Friday to you!
November is already half gone, so make each day count!

It's Friday once again which means I post a few photos from our week.

We enjoyed a field trip to a local botanical garden this week. What fun! We are still seeing beautiful summer-like temps and lots of sun, which made the outdoor nature hiking a perfect activity.

My son has been doing a little bit more formal schooling now. Still nothing too intense, but learning how to properly write letters and how to pronounce letter sounds. It's a struggle for me to not compare him with his fast-learning older sister who was reading at age 4. He's almost 6, loves to be read to but isn't showing many signs of being ready to read by himself yet. It'll come.

The penny horse ride at our local Meijer store. A favorite that just MUST happen when we make a rare visit to Meijer.

The biggest apple we'd ever seen, ready to be eaten. We were blessed with almost 40-pounds of apples last week = applesauce coming out our ears, almost. We love our apples and applesauce!

Happy weekend to you!

It's the end of September already! Time just keeps speeding by. Here are a few photos from the last few weeks. Since I've not posted pictures on Fridays for a while, I've got some catching up to do!

My son loves to swing. He asked me to get a picture of him going really high, which is really hard to do as an action shot.

My hubby giving the kids a wheelbarrow ride. They never seem to tire of this.

My chimpanzees playing on the neighbor's playset.

My goofy boy after a bath, with his crazy spiked hair.

My kids always enjoy using our couch cushions for horses. Are mine the only ones who do this?

Kids + Toys = Cuteness

My daughter when another tooth fell out. Her smile is a changing.

Happy Friday to you!

Friday is here again. The end of July already. The time goes quickly, which is why I regularly try to grab some shots of everyday life as it happens. Here are few photos from the last week or so.

A silly shot of our garden veggies. Our cucumbers this year are LONG. They look more like zucchini than cukes, but they make great horns!

A picture from more than week ago that never got shared. Daddy-daughter hugs.

A shot of me with some of our beautiful lilies in the backyard.

I've never mentioned this before but my husband is AMAZING at making homemade pizza. He has perfected his own recipe and we very much enjoy it every time he makes pizza. This week he decided to stick some chunks of ham along the crust of the pizza (a little trick making the kids more likely to eat their crusts). Yum, yum, yum!

Always melts my heart to see Daddy reading to our little boy. We love books and we love reading together.

Here's my daughter doing some Chinese calligraphy as part of our 5th grade schooling with Sonlight. This was a fun side project she worked on as she's currently studying the country of China.

Happy Friday to you!
